Three steps
- 1
Add the PDFs
Drop all the files you want to combine.
- 2
Put them in order
Use the arrows to move a file up or down. The first file comes first in the result.
- 3
Merge and download
You get one PDF with every page from every file.
What happens when you merge
Merging copies the pages of each PDF, unchanged, into a new document. Nothing is re-compressed or redrawn, so text stays selectable, web links on the pages keep working and images keep their original quality.
Some document-level extras do not come along: bookmarks from the source files and fillable form fields may be lost, because they belong to the original document rather than to its pages. Fill in forms before merging if you need their contents.
Tips
- Name your files with numbers (01-cover.pdf, 02-cv.pdf) before adding them and they arrive in the right order.
- To leave out some pages, split the file first with Split PDF and merge only the parts you need.
- Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on the number of files?
No fixed limit. Very large merges depend on your device's memory.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-compressing images or text.
Can I merge images and PDFs together?
Convert the images to a PDF first with JPG to PDF, then merge that PDF with the others.
Will bookmarks be kept?
Usually not. Bookmarks and form fields belong to the whole document and are not carried over by a page-by-page merge.
